How to Use CardSnap
Scanning a Business Card
- Open CardSnap on your iPhone
- Point your camera at the business card
- Wait for automatic scanning - CardSnap will detect and process the card
- Review the extracted information on the results screen
- Edit any details if needed
- Tap “Save to Contacts” to add to your iPhone
Permissions
CardSnap requires two permissions to function:
- Camera Access: To scan business cards
- Contacts Access: To save scanned information to your iPhone

Troubleshooting
Camera Not Working
- Make sure you’ve granted camera permission to CardSnap
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → CardSnap → Enable
- Make sure you’ve granted contacts permission to CardSnap
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Contacts → CardSnap → Enable
Poor Scanning Results
- Ensure good lighting when scanning
- Hold the card flat and steady
- Make sure the entire card is visible in the camera view
- Clean text works better than handwritten text
App Crashes
- Restart CardSnap
- Restart your iPhone
- Make sure you have the latest version of CardSnap
Privacy Policy
Data Collection
CardSnap does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or business card data to external servers. All data processing occurs locally on your device.
Permissions
CardSnap requests the following permissions:
- Camera Access: To scan business cards using your device’s camera
- Contacts Access: To save scanned business card information directly to your iPhone’s Contacts app
Data Processing
- Business card scanning and text recognition is performed entirely on your device using Apple’s Vision framework
- No business card images or extracted data are stored within the CardSnap app
- Contact information is saved directly to your iPhone’s native Contacts app under your control
- No data is transmitted to CardSnap developers or third parties
Third-Party Services
CardSnap does not use any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or external services.
Data Retention
CardSnap does not retain any user data. All scanned information is immediately processed and, if you choose, saved to your device’s Contacts app.
